Be proactive this year!

I refuse to be an active human. I don’t mean I want to be a couch potato or anything like that. I mean a person who lives reacting to circumstances. Active humans suffer a lot. They may not agree that they do but …. they do. They work hard all the time, get things done but never find fulfillment. They may not get rewards for their actions or when they do they don’t quite get the point of it all. That is because everything that happens is forced on them. It is not what they wish to do but rather what they are compelled to by circumstance. This applies to people in all social classes.
I choose to be proactive. Proactive people are creators of circumstance. They go out and make things happen not sit and wait to react to whatever life throws in their way. They Prepare for the future. They have a vision and they work to attain it. Every choice they make, every investment of time, energy and money is done with the aim of attaining that vision. They know there is a possibility of failure but they also know it is not a dead end but a diversion. It may take longer to get to the finish line but who cares, the point is to enjoy the journey. They do what they can now because they know what their efforts are for. They find fulfillment.
It is always easier to react than to act. It is less nerve wracking to wait for a promotion that to ask for it. It is easier to wait for your crush to talk to you than to go to them. It is easier to go for employment than start your own business. We all want the easy way out because most of the time it is the convenient way. In some way it is procrastination. It is convenience at the expense of time yet time is limited.
Don’t lose time. Time is irreplaceable. If you want something go for it. Often, your decision to act rather than wait will bring you closer to your goal… faster. After all, it is better to have disappointment than regret, because it is always easier to forgive others than yourself.
