Words vs Actions
Talking about the things you want to do is a good thing. Saying what you feel to those who matter is worth the time. Making promises makes you partially accountable. However, in all the above you accept and make room for failure; just in case. It is like standing at the starting line of a race with a 50/50 mentality on whether or not you want to run.
Life and fortune favors the bold. Be all in or get all out because there is no halfway. Therefore, don’t just talk but act. You know what you want, and you have professed, now go possess it because there is no such thing as luck. Acting on what you want means laying the groundwork with a clear vision of the desired end state. Luck is when opportunity meets preparedness. So, be prepared. Failure is not an option because you understand that there may be setbacks but those will be your stepping stones.
Do not just say but show. In a world where people are always saying, showing what you feel carries the emotion home. If you love, then do things that show it. If someone displeases you, do not hide it. If you say no but people don’t take you seriously, it is because you are not showing it. While you think you are being serious, you are actually second guessing yourself and people take advantage of that. So, show it. Do not go overboard though. Learn to be emotionally mature.
Lastly, do not just make promises, prove it. If you are going to promise something, hold that thought and make it happen instead. If you have to, tell them your intention and then come rain or sunshine, do it. That will make you an honorable person that can be trusted. Saying ‘I promise’ is never enough.
When you earnestly do what you desire and show what you feel and do what you gave your word about, you will not be short-changed, abused and used or disrespected; because people respond best to things they can see. Plus, you get to be yourself at all times. What can beat that!
