The Cheerful Giver
Giving is the hardest thing in the world. That is what society has made it. You give because society says you should. You give because you have and its only right to do so because in society people who have always do. You give because you don’t want to look bad or you want to look good. People seldom give from the bottom of their hearts, they give for societal approval.
What then makes a cheerful giver? They are selfish. Yes, they do it for themselves, because they want to, because they feel like doing it because they can. It makes THEM happy. It is never about what the other or society gives them in return whether material or not, but rather what THEY can put in. They do what they can when they can and how they can; not when society thinks they can. Everything begins with them.
Cheerful givers do not suffer. Giving does not leave them or those in their care in despair. They have their priorities straight. Charity always begins at home. They give without straining, thus they enjoy giving and are more willing to do so. So if it is just one coin that they can give for whatever reason, or a smile, they give it. They give it with all their might. Cheerful givers have no regrets because at the moment of giving, there is no doubt and no fear.
A cheerful giver touches hearts. That is what makes them so powerful. Giving what they can honestly and willingly touches more lives and hurts less. They may be judged but who cares. Those who matter don’t mind and those who mind don’t matter.
