Weight Loss II

So I’ve been talking with my friend S, who I think I mentioned before in a previous blog. (You know the one who I think would make a stellar life coach), and she’s a fitness… (I feel like the word buff is a shade too strong to describe people like us) Let’s just say that we actively exercise and… You know, discuss it.
Anyway, I was saying, that we both feel like we have come to a point in time where we just need to stop and re-evaluate our exercise routines. Ill point out though that S is a lot more serious about exercise than me and is something of a fitness instructor. I think we both in our various ways both came to the conclusion that consistency is better than intensity.
Think about it. What’s the point of going so hard today that even if you don’t injure yourself, your body ends up so strained and sore you’re out of action for a while? It’s really counterproductive. You would be better off doing a small amount and consistently, even if it takes you longer to lose the weight, but you build up your fitness and endurance, and you never work yourself into a situation where your body burns out.
This also has the added advantage of helping you avoid stress, which I here makes you retain weight in some cases. I imagine that when you’re stressed your body panics and reacts the way it would in the case where you take one meal a day. It starts thinking you’re in trouble and stores the weight in preparation for some non-existent impending period of trouble or something. Excuse me for not using all the jargon you would usually here at this point from an actual health blogger but I am an ordinary layman trying to get a beach body.
