Green Grass

You really admire and desire that greener grass on the other side. For some reason, it always looks lush with deep, thick grass; like it is from another world. The first thought is always the wish to possess it. Therefore, the first question you should ask yourself is…. can you sustain it?

Nothing that looks that green comes easy. The reason that grass is green is because someone somewhere is looking out for it. It is unfortunate that in the current world, people are so busy looking at what others have that they lose sight of what is in their possession. People have no pride in what they have.

I’m not talking about conceit. The pride I’m referring to is the delight or elation arising from some act, possession or relationship.  While it is understandable that what you have may not satisfy your taste/desires, it is important that you understand that that little you have is more valuable than that which is not in your possession. That which you have is actually the first step to acquiring that which you don’t have YET.

The sense of pride the possessor of the greener grass has is what made it so. You see when you appreciate what you have, you protect it, you provide what is necessary to make it flourish and it comes without saying that you will flaunt it and profess about it with no shame. That is why you saw that green grass.

Now that you desire that green grass, are you willing to put your heart and soul into maintaining it when you obtain it? If not, just stay on your wilting grass until you open your eyes and realize that that if you cannot maintain that little grass, you definitely cannot handle the grander things…. YET!
