Do you really need what you want?

I wanted a lot of things. I wanted to be invisible. I wanted to not have to talk in front of crowds. I wanted to win a lottery or just stumble upon a fortune, somehow. I really wanted a lot of things. I also did not want to do anything with history or a lot of writing.
I got an accident that had me using crutches for about 8 weeks. I was not willing to defer so I had to walk with crutches. So much for invisibility. I ended up doing a course that involves a lot of presenting and reading history and report writing; very long reports!! I have never won anything in my life. Not even those draws we did in high school for events. I believe I have no luck at all, so I pray for His favor.
Now that I think about it I wanted to run away from things I found cumbersome. I cannot say I regret wanting what I did. However, I realize God probably intended for me to explore and grow and not just limit myself. So I will enjoy this cringe worthy journey. I will brace myself for Gods plans which are beyond human understanding. I know He may not give me what I want but I shall never lack what I need. Do you really need what you want?
