Be Kind Not Nice

Kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. Niceness on the other hand is the state or quality of having a pleasant or agreeable manner in socializing with others.
Nice people are willing to agree to something. This makes them compromise and suffer because they are easily taken advantage of. Being nice is not necessarily a good thing. When you are nice, you can get hurt and always tolerating fixable bad habits and behaviors for reasons such as friendship, ‘love’, or not wanting to hurt them does not help them either.
A kind person on the other hand, would not easily be taken advantage of. Because they are considerate, they will tell you the truth about your miss-steps even if it hurts. They will not lie back and smile at you as you hurt them or others just because you are friends. It’s a nice thing to support a friend regardless, but it’s not kind to let them do something wrong.
Don’t be nice, it helps no one. Be kind. That way you will help yourself and others as well. It’s a win-win situation.
