Its Christmas week. I find that I can\u2019t believe that it\u2019s already this time of the year. It\u2019s like I\u2019m in a bubble. I\u2019m not feeling it. Not the magic and excitement that used to come with it. . I feel a bit disillusioned. It\u2019s become more a time for me to take stock. What was gained what was lost, what I still have and to be grateful for it. A marker, a mile stone.<\/p>\n
Maybe it\u2019s just that there is not as much advertising as there used to be when I was younger, or whether it\u2019s just that I\u2019m in a different place I my life. It\u2019s a fact though that I don\u2019t even view it in the same way I used to. It doesn\u2019t hold the same meaning and I don\u2019t get the same energy.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m still grateful for it though. It\u2019s the time of year we remember our lord and savior Jesus Christ, even though this is not entirely accurate. (But I\u2019m not going to get into that.) It\u2019s a time to be grateful for the year God has seen you through and to look around you and be grateful for family and friends. (And on that note I would like to urge you, fellow growers, to reach out to and wish these loved ones a happy holiday, even from me. Show them you still know that they are there, even if u haven\u2019t spoken to them all year ;p)<\/p>\n
It\u2019s also a time to just be with these said loved ones. And as such I encourage try to go and see them if you can. Remember all the non-superfluous relationships in your life. The ones that matter and \/or have lasted for years and touch base with those. I think Christmas is about those relationships. So while you may have a bunch of friends you want to go party with, for me it\u2019s the type of holiday reserved for the deeper relationships you have. How do you feel about it?
