It\u2019s the end of week five!!!!! Yaaaaaay!!!!! I\u2019m so glad that this week went by without any glitches. And of course I\u2019m happy that the weekend is here again. So all is well in theredduniverse. How are you fellow growers? I feel like I haven\u2019t referred to you guys as such in such a long time. I kind of feel like I\u2019ve missed you. \ud83d\ude41 How\u2019s the year going on your ends? Still on track with those resolutions? I hope so, I\u2019ve got my fingers crossed for all of you. ;p<\/p>\n
(I\u2019m in a really cheerful mood can you tell?).<\/p>\n
I just realized that I should have done the five week timestamp today instead of Wednesday, but oh well. Today I\u2019m going to talk about luck. (Yes, the type you use to win the lottery, luck) Do you believe in luck? I don\u2019t.<\/p>\n
Most people consider it some sort of intrinsic attribute people are either born with or without. I personally don\u2019t believe this, but if that was the case, I\u2019d be one of those people who were born without it. (I\u2019m not bitter.) \u00a0The most I\u2019ve ever won in any completion that didn\u2019t require any actual input on my part is a t-shirt, which I couldn\u2019t get anyway, because it was a random radio completion in another town and I couldn\u2019t be bothered to pick up a t-shirt<\/em>.<\/p>\n And get this, you guys. The main prize of that completion was a sound system, I think. (it\u2019s been a while, and I was mad, so I can\u2019t remember) And I had the best answer to it. But the thing was this. To win the main prize you had to call in on Friday though they had to pick a winner every day. But I didn\u2019t know this. I figured they would pick a winner from among all the winners of each day, because helloooo, this was a fr*ggin sound system! So naturally I called on Thursday and won, only to realize that all I was going to get was a t-shirt. A TSHIRT!!!!<\/p>\n And the winner of the sound system, had the lamest answer. Like, my answer was light years better, and he (I believe it was a he) won! How? It wasn\u2019t fair. (I\u2019m NOT bitter!) But I\u2019m never participating in a dumb radio competition ever again. I\u2019ve never won anything in my life that I didn\u2019t work for. (Draws and lottos\u2026.no) So what is my take away from this?<\/p>\n A quote I hear a while back sums it up best for me. (I don\u2019t remember it accurately, so please are with me.) But I went something like<\/p>\n -Luck is when preparation meets opportunity and\/or chance.<\/p>\n If you were prepared for something to happen, even if it was just a little, you\u2019ll\u00a0 be thinking \u2018what luck\u2019 if it ever happens and everybody who wasn\u2019t will be thinking \u2018he\/she is so lucky he\/she had \u2026\u2026 when this happened unlike the rest of us\u2019. It\u2019s true.<\/p>\n And the moral of this whole entire diatribe is this. Don\u2019t wait on luck to take you places or get you things. Prepare yourself to win or get what you want and if its fair completion maybe you will, maybe you won\u2019t (depending on whether someone else was more prepared than you\u2026 It happens.) But it\u2019s better than sitting around waiting for things to fall in your lap.<\/p>\n Personally I have a pretty sure fire way for things to work out my way for me. I decide what I want, pray for it, and get down to working for it. As long as it\u2019s nothing bad or sinful, 8.5 times out of 10, I\u2019ll probably get it. If it just won\u2019t materialize then it probably wasn\u2019t meant to be. And if I still feel strongly about it later I could try again, because sometimes the answer is not necessarily no, it\u2019s just wait.
