Olivia rubbed her eyes and sat back. She had been staring at the white and black so long she actually had stars in her eyes. She looked at her watch then observed, at the pitch blackness outside, without much surprise, that it was indeed as late as it felt.
Jane watched from the bushes as he kissed the girl goodbye. A rage boiled inside her. He waved and then started back up the hill, towards their home. She sunk further back in the bushes and took a shortcut back home.
